Isolation of microorganisms from cassava peels for the production of bioethanol

This study investigates the production of bioethanol from cassava peels using inherent isolated microorganisms. Cassava were collected processing unit in selected towns Ekiti State. Microorganisms by pour plate method; isolates identified different biochemical tests and molecular characterization. The bacterial include, Sporosarcina terrae, Bacillus cereus, Proteus mirabilis Pseudomonas taiwanensis; while fungal include yeast (Wickerhamomyces rabaulensis), Rhizopus Aspergillus niger. entire A. niger tested positive to degradative test, only W. rabaulensis fermentation test. Four species detected 16S rDNA nucleotide sequence. High yields was obtained combination inoculants, however B. cereus produced highest yield 19.3 g/cm3 at a concentration 38.6% 17.7 34.4% 100g when distilled 14 days 21 respectively.
